The Africa Trade Conference 2021 was a two (2) day virtual conference that was held on 10-11th November 2021, in Nairobi, Kenya. The conference theme was “Empowering Africans to participate in Intra Africa Trade and Global Trade post COVID-19” The Stakeholders who attended the ATC2021 were from various African countries, the African Diaspora, the Global Business community and Global Trade experts.
The Conference was structured into four main sessions:
Trade In Africa Session – The discussions were about promotion of more Intra Africa trade enabled by AfCFTA and Regional Economic Communities in Africa
Trade With Africa Session – The discussions were about Africa engagement in global trade and participation in global value chains
Digital Trade Session – We discussed the role of digital trade in facilitating more trade and the enablers for both corporates and SMEs and the trends in Trade Tech
Trade Exhibition Session – This was a virtual exhibition, where we showcased African Brands
Keynote Speakers were:
Hon. David Osiany – Chief Administrative Secretary (Deputy Minister), Ministry of Industrialization, Trade & Enterprise Development, Kenya was the Keynote Speaker for the conference
Ms. Anne Wambui Gaitha, CEO – Regal Africa Group, was the convenor of the Africa Trade Conference and presented on Trade and Development in Africa
Ms. Rachel Mwakazi Skjaerpe – Projects Director, ManGo Development was the Keynote speaker at the Trade with Africa Session
Mr. Ziyang Fan – Head of Digital Trade, World Economic Forum was the Keynote speaker at the Digital Trade session
Prof. Bitange Ndemo – Professor of Entrepreneurship, University of Nairobi’s Business School was the conference closure speaker and he presented on the topic “Digital Trade in Africa”
